Investment Strategy
Divergent partners with entrepreneurs in the creation of exceptional businesses particularly focused on the transformation of industries and processes through information technology enablement.
Divergent is structured as a corporate investment entity so our investment process is not constrained by fund lifecycles nor are we incentivised by management fees which drive deal or fund size.
As principal investors our only criterion is the risk-return profile of the opportunity regardless of size, stage or location (within Australia).
We have built strong sector allocations in two key areas:
Divergent’s sweet spot is to provide ‘mini expansion capital’ to businesses that are trapped in the "capital gap". Many early-stage entrepreneurs that only want sub $1 million can't find a strong market for that small "nibble" in the mainstream venture capital world.
As a result, many entrepreneurs push harder to hold their breath and self-fund in the earliest stages. Divergent Capital offers a solution to these entrepreneurs (are you one?) and will continue to focus on this under-serviced class of opportunities.
